I compared menu prices between DoorDash and UberEats across 1,045 restaurants in the DC metro area. After matching 47,720 identical menu items by name and address, the average price gap is 0.3% - statistically meaningless.
79% of items are priced within ±1% of each other. The platforms are in price parity. If you’re choosing between them for a delivery order, price isn’t a factor.

Category-level findings: Italian and Mexican restaurants show a slight UberEats premium (+1.2%). Vietnamese and Ethiopian skew slightly cheaper on UberEats (-0.7% to -1.0%). These differences are small enough to be noise.

Methodology: Restaurants matched by exact street address. Items matched by exact name. Outliers (>50% price difference) excluded as data quality issues. High-confidence matches only (name similarity ≥0.6). Data collected February 20261.
